1.Introduction of the Organization of DIRECTFORCE

The Academy Headquarters has been set up at the DF (DIRECTFORCE) Secretariat, and we have been engaged in corporate management, educational-related activities, lectures and educational activities to companies by our members with a wide range of experience.

Specific activities include elementary schools, junior high schools, high schools, universities, graduate students, venture companies, local civic groups, and Rotary Clubs. In addition, as regular activities, some of the members become lecturers internally to our DF members to hold lectures, exchange meetings, various study sessions, and field works for regional revitalization.

In order to pursue our new interests and possibilities, the Education Committee, the Technical Committee, the Environmental Subcommittee, the Corporate Governance Subcommittee, the Tourism National Society, the Food and Agriculture Study Group, the Health and Medical Research Group, and DFRI (100-year-old Social Research Institute) have been established in fiscal 2020, and all members belong to one or some of the subcommittees. In addition, PDCA(Plan, Do, Check and Action) is performed repeatedly through study sessions and various study meetings by each group members, and we work diligently to improve the quality of research and lectures through daily study, and we are working flexibly to meet the needs of the times.

2.Support to the university educational tour to Japan from outside of Japan.

We support University educational tour to Japan with strong backgrounds and experience of our members. University educational tour is different from tourism. We make arrangement to understand the heart of each company’s strength and passion. The choice of visiting company is designed following the intention of the University responsible. For example, in 2019 we have arranged 6 visits for 3 days for a University of U.S.A. It is a wide selection of companies from a small factory to a global manufacturer following their theme of the visit.

For the selection of companies our approach is education oriented. We start from the communication with the faculty to confirm the purpose of the visit. Since it is education, we make it with a lecture of the company information. It is not an instant arrangement because usually they do not accept such a visit by non-customers. Some company has public visit tour but those are publicity. To make the educational arrangement our members who were ex-executives of each company assists us for direct communication with the company management. It is necessary to start communication in very early timing with the University because we usually start contacts to the companies more than half a year before to make it booked in their annual activities. We do not handle tour logistics like hotels, busses and meals, but we keep close contact with the travel agency in Japan who are assigned by the University for the tour.

We are pleased to communicate directly with the Universities in the planning stage. Especially we have strength in Tokyo area which is the heart of Japan. We are looking forward to work with you in near future.
